I must be going crazy because there are 4 or 5 new Netsuite issues that have come up since Saturday...not sure what is going on. Thanks, Ntostenr Ver 2008.1 was rolled out for quite a few customers late Friday. Maybe you were one of them.
-
Easiest solution is to export to excel. Where the limitations are little more flexible and even if you can not fit all columns onto one page - excel will still print them on another page so you can line them up. Phillip, with all due respect, perhaps you are trying to be helpful, but that is not how it comes across. First…

I've used Netsuite previously, and reaffirm (now that I am setting this company up) that if a single checkbox in a vague set-up list somewhere in Netsuite is innapropriately marked, then what you say can happen. Peter, Can you please expand on this? I am trying to document these type of setup issues/decisions. Thanks.

Certainly! It's kind of embarassing since it was so obvious, but what the heck- I have never claimed perfection....:o ... Departments. These can be set at the main (transaction) level, as well as the column (line) level on transactions. IE- one department for the entire transaction, or multiple departments on one…

Thanks Evan. This will help clarify the matter for all of us, whether we are accountants or not.
-
just stumbled across this thread. Maybe it is because I understand Netsuite as well as accounting, but 4 years with only 3 requests to change it does not validate the statement that it causes Accountants to mistrust netsuite. Any accountant can take a look at the COA, see the words-non posting, and tie the entire…

It has not yet been scheduled for a specific release. Wow! That's very disappointing. This has to be a very, very easy fix -- it's just changing some text that's displayed on a web page. And it will avoid a lot of confusion, and more important to NetSuite, will help prevent accountants from distrusting NetSuite. When…

It's OK Jim, I didn't really expect you to. Angela, I think you quite missed the point. I was trying to be polite by saying "I don't follow your logic". Let me be blunt: I find your argument illogical. By the way, I may not be an accountant, but I am not the idiot your message implies. You have completely missed the point…

The nutshell explanation for people who are confused - if it's a non-posting transaction type (sales order, purchase order, estimate, return auth...) or a transaction in a non-posting state (unapproved expense report) the GL Impact is a 'preview'. Malin, I hope you can appreciate the contradiction in terms of your…
-
The GL Impact page on non-posting transactions is a projection of the eventual posting impact of that transaction, substituting a non-posting account (in this case purchase orders) for the account that will be on the main line of the bill (A/P). We are planning to rename the link on non-posting transactions in a future…
-
We are planning to rename the link on non-posting transactions in a future release. Any suggestions? Malin, Thanks for responding. My first suggestion would be to show a statement in BOLD on the "G/L Impact" page that "This is a NON-Posting transaction, and therefore there is NO G/L impact from this transaction." That…

One suggestion is to customize the Vendor form to remove the NetSuite access tab/fields, and make that form be the default form. Create a full form (with NetSuite Access fields) that only the "Administrator" can use. HTH.
-
Has anyone been able to add signatures to checks when they print? Yes, using Print Boss.
-
Jim is onto something - the external ID. This is used primarily for web services I think, so I use a bit of a different approach. Internal ID's are, for me at least, the way to go.. Actually, this is incorrect. External IDs are quite easy to use with CSV -- I do it all the time. They are actually more powerful than…

Michael, Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue... The import tool has a different problem every time I use it. Pretty frustrating... Ben The error "Invalid company reference key [company name]" means that the company that was entered for the contact can not be found in NetSuite. I have used the CSV…

Jeff, I'm just guessing, but I'd bet it's a problem with Office 2007 docs, not with Vista. All Office 2007 native docs have a "x" at the end, like ".docx", ".xlsx", etc. Has NetSuite been updated for Office 2007?
-
I think this may be the same problem as described and solved in the following thread: Netsuite University and New User Training

Cecelia and Angela, First, I fully agree that NS was very responsive. But that is not the point. My point is very simple: Here is an OBVIOUS bug that clearly should have been found/fixed before it was released. I also agree that the Help and documentation team have made huge improvement over the last year, but again that…

Okay, these are my last words on the whole topic of defects 1) Defects are a fact of life in software that is evolving 2) We do our best to minimize them. We are constantly working to improve our processes. 3) Many reported defects affect a single company that is using the product in a way we didn't anticipate. The company…
-
I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, but I believe that examples are the best way to clearly illustrate the problem with OBVIOUS defects being released. Here's an example posted today: CRM User Guide Not Available Hi, I need to download and read the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Basics Guide from the User Guides…

Everybody wants more, but what are the present staffing levels, compared with the new staffing levels that Evan was referring to earlier? Matt, Actually, we just asking for what we've already paid for -- fix the defects. It's up to NetSuite to manage it's resources, including staff. There's no point in us debating NS…

I accidentally imported 300 customers 4 times, so I have 1200 customers in the system. I would like to delete all of them if possible. Is there a way? Contact support, and request that they enable the "mass delete" for customers feature.
-
Mass delete only works for transactions, a far as I know. Does it now work for entities? Yes. Seen it with my own eyes.
-
... but I do still want a feature where I could do a mass update with a formula... . . . It would be faster than the export/import method and could be done by a less experienced NS user plus I could save it so I can easily repeat it in the future. -Tom I agree. Having formulas on Mass updates would be extremely powerful.
-
I guess I could do an item export and import, but I am afraid of those. The data doesn't map right on the import. In other words, the exported file has to be doctored and columns rearranged and renamed to fit the requirements for an import file (unless they have changed it). There was a previous enhancement to make an item…
-
Is there an enhancement for mass update with formula? I'll vote for it. This will be very useful. I hope it gets implemented soon.
-
... but what about other transactions? I don't think you want a search for a customer name to bring up all their transactions. Hmm, interesting question. Currently, to get a list of, let's say, invoices, one opens the customer record, and then clicks on the Sales tab, then on the Transactions tab, then changes the Type…

Is there a way to get NS to not open Acrobat Reader in a browser window? . In Acrobat: Edit > Preferences > Internet > UNCHECK "Display PDF in browser".
-
ISo, you can imagine how happy I am. You solved 3 problems, in 1 blow, for me! Thanks so much!! Angelika, I'm glad this solved your problems. :) Another tip is to leave Acrobat running -- close the documents, but not the application. This will make it much faster to open new PDF documents.

According to the global search docs you can use "p:blah" to search a prospect which works but if I try "op:blah" for an opportunity it doesn't find anything. However if I do "op:288" it will find the opportunity specific to this opportunity number. I have tried "op:%blah" with no results. So what is the trick for narrowing…
