Great find! I have just ordered a couple... This should be on the NS sign-in page. C'mon NS marketing team make it seen! EDIT: OK so it will be Christmas.... so coming soon then!
-
Really great news from NetSuite! ~ really positive moves!
-
The bit about the finger was good though, if I had one of those I'd enjoy running around pointing it at people! :) my bad
-
I found Salesforce for Dummies invaluable (I handed them out to employees - they loved it) when we used that application - they gave them away all the time! a great approach to empowering users. A NetSuite for Dummies would ROCK Several times I have looked for NetSuite books at bookstores and online = none :( If they are…
-
Sorry about this topic drift - it my bad habit (one of many) but why do you think they open the door whereas NetSuite keeps it shut?
-
I think this is all about the money. Just about my first post in this UG was removed by NetSuite, the topic? Trying to get the passwords for the many pre-recorded training sessions they have which were previously listed in the recorded training area, with titles like; QIP Customer Relationship Management Basics QIP…

Not unique to NetSuite but that it is SaaS is a standout feature, that one aspect has so many benefits that it outways (for me) any of the many individual great features. Regarding the forum, yes it's good, but not great (IMHO) it's best point is the great input from users and some fantastic NS employees, it's worst is…
-
Evan, that sounds exciting! it would be awesome to see something like this happen. I'm certain you will only have positive feedback & results from investment in this area.
-
Surveys are obviously popular. Sorry off topic ~ now if we could get visual graphs for the results! :p
-
hey Tom, Why not create a survey, in something like survey monkey and place a link to that survey in here, that way users will be taken out of the forum to post question results, which you can then post on your blog? - rules........ Bah, whatever! Also it will give you a nice chart of results, rather than needing to drill…
-
Ray, pls check my survey I did add a couple of things, 1 which was the yin to the yang = best experience :) I am sure there are also lots of them too - like yours!
-
try another browser, some of my users have this and I ask them to try different browser = it works! - I don't know why but give it a shot? mostly we setup firefox and ie, one will work...
-
Sorry, I could not resist. It use net?
-
Yes please Netsuite - what is Best Practise ?
-
A great product would not be so expensive to implement & would not have a usergroup with these kind of posts in it.
-
Ray thanks a lot for your input - here and elsewhere. My main struggle here has been getting my head around the concept that class and department are only for transactions, now I understand that it's fairly straightforward. I was wrongfully thinking that they could be used across all data, which is not true.
-
Sorry about thread highjack Angela! Ray your comments/ help on this forum and whitepapers are great! - Maybe it's cheap for you but to me it does not seem so, the billing setup here in Australia is different to the US, maybe that's part of it.

Really hoping someone can give me some hints.

We have 50 trading Locations (retail shops)
They are all 1 company (not multi-org)
Most important is P&L by Location
(Some of) My questions are;

Should we set each Location up as a Department? -or not? -why?
Will having this many…

you could customise an admin role and remove list>employee

Thanks Mini, I appreciate you input, The reason is that there are a number of people in the HR department, they are used to using a system where they can quickly record tasks to be reviewed by other HR team members without having to associate each and every other HR team member + consider changes within the HR team itself,…
-
Task security seems to remain lax in 2007.0 Surely other customers want something done, it is not only transactions which need permissions. grumble grumble
-
Timmo you are confirming my worst fears... Netsuite's approach is totally inflexable (all or nothing), and this is across all activities. Custom records do go a long way towards meeting our needs. BUT a major issue remains which is that tasks themselves have no way to setup security on (apart from "private" - not good with…
-
also needed to change the search permission to view.. (to stop them using advanced search and selecting "none of mine" ;) ) Nope just checked this and the perform search must be set to none... So to get this system to work "real world" I need to disable crucial funtionality, great. This means for all full users I can…
-
OK I am crazy.... So I have restricted a "mine" task search to that role = Problem Solved?
-
Still have problem with security; We have some sensitive custom fields on employee records, I have the entry forms for users setup so they are hidden. Problem is that any (search) user can through the "search form" add these fields onto a search and then see them. I understand that I can restrict to own employee's Or…
-
Have to agree with you bjuicy... "the on-line help and video courses are not comprehensive enough." I think Netsuite is shooting itself in the foot with it's poor approach to empowering it's users with knowledge... (OK I admit there is heaps of detail in the HELP, but pre-recorded walk-throughs are worth a 1000 words as…
-
ER sent as follows; Currently case functionality is specifically oriented around Customers. The Help desk case functionality has acknowledged that there are times when cases also concern Employees. A major improvement which could build on this would be allowing Human Resources to use cases to manage Employee specific cases…

enhancement no is: AUEN616

OK so here is my problem; I have many Employee Centre users, they can see all sensitive HR tasks. It seems impossible to customise the Employee Centre to restrict by Department or Class. I can remove access to all tasks and events, but why would I bother buying the licenses if they don't get that functionality? It really…
