• that should be Fantastic, thanks Justin! :) Don't get me wrong, I think Netsuite is a great product  - just really want to get the most out of it!!
•
1. For what primary purpose do you want to export data? a>Full data 'backup', peace of mind (i.e. it'll just sit on a drive somewhere, or in the unfortunate case of moving your business off NetSuite.) If Netsuite goes kapow we don't want to go kapow with you. 2. Those of you who are trying to use the…
• Supposedly, there will be improvements to CVS export/import in coming releases. Hopefully the NS development team will take a queue from some of their less expensive competitors and implement a more feature rich export/import utility... and do it soon. So True! The import/export methods from our previous SaaS CRM provider…
• Yep it works! Cool However, what you get is reports of the data that is held, rather than tables of the data. A data export from Salesforce (for example) returns all the tables, all the fields, simple, easy, straightforward approach. Now with Netsuite I get a "report" style CSV export with whichever fields they choose to…
• Bump. Does anyone else use Netsuite to manage Job Applicants? Netsuite clearly does not do so... jobs@netsuite.com :o to my ongoing confusion.. is that an outlook workflow over there folks?? We still find this method a bit clunky as the applicants come in as a Lead (with the Case/s &…
• Found a solution to this...... 1. Have the new applicants enter as Customer Leads 2. If that Customer ends up as an Employee create an Employee record 3. Give that Employee Customer Centre access (this creates a customer with the employees name) 4. Merge the original Customer applicant to the new Customer 5. On the…
• Thanks Mark, saved search will work, but sounds like a lot of clicks to me, we will be at 45 locations shortly and using searches to move to relevant data for a location is a workaround I did not expect of ERP "no limits" Netsuite. Another gripe is the way that calendars are shared as private, public or defined below…
• A solution may be on the (Individual Customer) Info tab to allow Relationship:Employee (Contact) Also perhaps bring that Relationship onto the Employee:Contact record Info tab as Other Relationship:Individual (Customer) Doing it that way would allow tracking of cases/activities/notes to stay with individuals, all the way…
• Thanks Mark, Yes I will log an ER for share calendar by group.. to have to hand do each sharing across 65 users is crazy. I understand that search will work as you describe but what is needed is a quick easy location based view of; contact:employees at that location contact:employee activites past and future at that…
• Have trouble with taking the leads first name, last name, phone, etc and getting them to become the new employee records first name, last name, etc. Actually now though have a script being done for this as we are wanting to bring over the activities from the lead onto the new employee record as well as some other things...…
• Should I Save OR Submit? :p This is all great. Please get it in the product.
• So now using workflow on cases it is fantastic. My applicants apply online and then move through a workflow... Pending > Screening > Interview > Hired / Not Hired At the exit of the hired stage I am having difficulty getting create record to work passing the lead info into a new employee record.. any hints on how that…
• Thanks Yang, ;) So when will this appear on the Netsuite jobs page ;) Actually it is not working exactly as expected, as this step seems not possible; 4. Merge the original (Individual)Customer applicant to the new (Employee)Customer However apart from that I'm happy and it should function mostly OK.
• We had a very similar setup with salesforce for managing our applicants it was great, now not so good....
• Thanks for your input Yang, We interview our applicants in 3 different locations, my reasoning for using leads was to have the applicants route to the relevant interviewer. Also (have not tried this yet in NS but guess it should be straightforward) we get the applicants to "score" themselves when submitting forms and route…
• One which really bugs me is the Event Notification email, which often goes out to people that do not use NetSuite and it's not very nice either. For us this goes out with US date format on it, which makes it even worse; and support, despite lots of effort cannot solve it. AUCase 6683 Date format change in event email…
• Our real concerns are in managing (people, activities, cases, details) those locations rather then the inventory at those locations, I have approached this again here
• For us, I don't think it is multi org, we are 1 company running stores in 40+ locations, all same tax id company id etc. I think the multi-org discussed in your papers (*thank you* - a great resource!) is different to our situation.
• Granted though - a copy tool would be useful - just not seen it in 3 or 4 years we have been selling and implementing. Have you seen the sandbox SF offer? http://www.salesforce.com/products/sandbox.jsp
• Hey Ray, yes I agree, the SF model does require you to "cobble" bits together to make it work for anything other than CRM, hence here our company is (using NS) after years using SF... :)
• Yeah. I am way out of that time zone and want to see especially Evans presentation, I have clicked around and cannot seem to find it... link please?
• I wonder if netsuite needs to test this externally? make locally it is ok..
• I still watch salesforce and sit in wonder at how good the documentation they have is. OK it's "just" CRM but it seems just as complex and detailed as NS to me, maybe more so? Just look at the PDFs they have for the latest version, from my experience with them it will all be working day 1 with the docs out months prior!…
• Could I just add that the pre-recorded web seminars also can really give a fast insight to functionality and please keep doing them, they are great. I do like to read any material available, but sometimes an onscreen walkthroughs can reduce many pages of reading to a few minutes & can also have good impact, especially I…
• OK Thanks for that. Would love to see you spice up the graph output options on the searches though, it would make analysis easier. And then we could just use the One System, Without the Limitation of needing to export that data to get a visual feel for it.
• OK in Custom Centres we have the options to create new links. So why for example is it sometimes; "New Record" then other times "Enter Record" Shouldn't it be one way or the other? As it is to create the links we need to sometimes search under "N" and sometimes under "E" to build links which do similar/same things... which…
• Very encouraging news, looking forward to it. Thanks!
• This is good stuff, but now I have my survey - how do I create reports on it? as it's custom records I can only do searches? But to get good use from my survey I would very much like seeing results in colourful charts and graphs....? are you going to send me to microsoft (excel) to do that? The help is getting MUCH better…
