Hello, I encountered this limitation about 4 years ago. You can use CSV import to create the initial set of expense categories with the subsidiary relationships. However, from that point on, we have had to maintain the exp categories via the UI. I hope this helps. Todd Niedringhaus

We leverage NetSuite's SDF for workflow deployments to/from Sandbox and Production accounts. SDF: SuiteCloud Development Framework. This requires an IDE (WebStorm, VSCode, etc.). There can be a slight learning curve when embracing SDF, and not all custom objects are supported. However, Workflows/SuiteFlows are supported.
