I've never seen Magento before. They lists a lot of ecommerce features that we have been looking for.... http://www.magentocommerce.com/features Intuit, the makers of Quickbooks, decided not to create a new ecommerce cart and just purchased Homestead (a leading ecommerce/cart provider).…

I just upgraded my Magento test acount to the latest version and looked around at the features. I'm always blown away by what you can get for free or practically free. I love their approach to ecommerce features like product reviews and such. NS somewhat provides the new feature (like product reviews in the ecommerce…

I've always advocate NS buying a Magento or whatever more advance WebStore/cart that can be made compatible and just offer it as a new and improved WebStore platform included for free with the ecommerce version of NetSuite. A 3rd party integration solution may be a tough sell for companies that don't want to add another…

Seanlucas, What about historical data on the old item? T

In some ways non-matrix is better. The issue with matrix items is that children don't have unique item images by default nor do they have their unique variant attribute as part of their name field. It is a real trick to make matrix child items flow into sales channels like Amazon and google shopping with correct images and…

Thanks for reporting that Mat. NS thought I was making up problems when I reported the issue. They basically told me that what I was reporting was impossible. Well, it isn't impossible because I can show them via WebEx if they need to see it with their own eyes. -T

the easiest place to add the code to customize the shopping cart page is under setup>website>tabs>shopping cart. in the Message and Greeting textboxes you can use JavaScripts to view frames open popups etc. Mumin, We are also interested in the "easiest" way to add any type of suggested items anywhere in our WebStore. Can…

OK, what about a gproxy alternative that does get good customer reviews? -Tom

Tony, Thanks for the tip. Can you elaborate on how to do it with Java? Even if a work-around does exist, I still think that NetSuite should make static text (and not a drop-down menu) the default display method for matrix items when only one child is active. Tom
-
I tested your solution. It may help some users, but it wont help us. It removes the item option from EVERY item ....even the items with more than one valid matrix option. In other words, it eliminated the pull-down from items with only one active matrix item option (which is what we want), but unfortunately ...it also…

Could someone post a copy of the script that would give us what we are looking for? Can someone from NetSuite tell us when this feature is coming or give us a detailed work-around? -Tom
-
Or, as with all NetSuite workarounds, you could always use JavaScript. Or NS could just fix the problem on their end. We will just leave the items displaying in an ugly and confusing manor until NS releases a fix. Hopefully it is sometime before 2012. I've been asking for this feature since 2005. -Tom

I don't know how to write JavaScript. Can you paste the Java code in this thread? If not, then please email me about what you would charge to help us with this. T

Also, see enhancement request 131530

An Enhancement already existed for this: Enhancement 140759 - Ability to control the size of the pop up box when you click on "Click Here to Estimate Shipping" in the Shopping Cart page.

Wantwater, I like the look of your menus. It is too bad that the URLs have to be manually set-up and maintained. Could you share the code or the source of the code that you used? T
-
Wantwater, looks like you use nlsmenu by http://www.addobject.com Their literature says "Load the menu from xml file or dynamically generated XML. This feature is also supported in cross frame environment. Load submenus on demand. When mouse over an item, a request is sent to server to load the submenu. This feature is…
-
So, it sounds like it isn't possible without manually entering every new URL into the script. Shame. Seems NetSuite prefers these types of menus for the NS back-end...but failed to give us the same functionality in the web store. I would use this type of navigation if it didn't have to be manually maintained. -Tom
-
As far as I know, a dynamic "mouse-over" menu solution still isn't an option in the "layout preferences" for a NS web-store. Several years later and such basic e-commerce features are still missing.

For the international users, I'll point out that my last post was inspired by Obama's speech. Rob, we have had a number of enhancement requests added and many of the ones that would have made the biggest impact were added as paid add-ons. It always burns, but what are ya gonna do? As a matter of principal, we use 3rd party…

NetSuite, Where on the NS website does it show what is included and excluded from each NS package? I'm on this page... http://www.netsuite.com/portal/resource/detailchart.shtml I don't see anything about an "Ecommerce Edition". As far as that goes, I don't see any NS add-ons either. Can you provide a path for the NS…
-
Do you use affiliates/partner passed in the urls? I found a case where our iframe wouldn't load if there was a partner code in the cookies. Try clearing your NS cookies and any cookies for your webstore/domain and then reload your webstore and see if it works. It was weird because I couldn't repeat the problem on my home…

Georgien, Do you have the "Ecommerce edition" of NetSuite? -Tom
-
Fred, Can you show me where you are getting that information? -Tom
-
Let me know what information you are looking for. I'm looking for any kind of NS help documentation that talks about that bundle. I looked around in "set-up -> NetSuite -> Install bundles" and I don't see any NetSuite created bundles that say anything about product reviews. We have the "ecommerce version" of NetSuite. -Tom
-
I'm still not sure what the differences are between the "NS site builder edition" and the "NS e-commerce edition", but we bought the new edition anyhow. I guess it's like six of one versus half-a-dozen of the other. Anyhow, can someone tell me where some documentation (specifically relating to the e-commerce edition…
-
I don't know anything about the "Ecommerce Edition", but we do have and use the Site Builder Module. We have all of the features enabled that you listed in step #2. I still don't see Bundle ID 1816 in the SuiteSource Repository. So, are we entitled to access to Bundle ID 1816 or is it something else that we would have to…

Each child item has a place for a unique vendor code. It is at the bottom of the "basic tab". So, open each child (there are child-links an the bottom of the "matrix tab" in the parent item). The confusing thing (and I can't convince NetSuite of this) is that there is a vendor code at the parent and there should only be…

Two thing that bother me NS charging for access to this product review bundle. #1 is that they have years of "catch-up" to go through to match the feature set of many of the significantly cheaper e-commerce carts and just when they could take one step toward getting closer to the cheaper carts ...they take two steps…
