I just realized what an inappropriate thread this is to post this comment, if anyone knows a better thread, please suggest and I will move it. Sorry) I would like to pitch in my $.02 on the PO workflow. I'm happy with it for the most part, but there is a "feature" that I would like to see. We give many of our vendors an…

Allow commission overrides at the customer and transaction level (i.e., the schedule is for 5% commission but for a particular customer or transaction, it should be 2.5%). 3 weeks I've been coding my own commission managment system in NetSuite.... all because the above suggestion isn't possible. This would be in my top #3…

Do any of you use online storage services that have an SDK or web services? We get just about all of our data INTO NetSuite via desktop applications. Our document imaging application would need to access the online storage service programatically. Also, how do you protect the files on the online service? For example, let's…

We aren't being charged yet, but I'm terrified about it happening some day - we couldn't handle it. We have a system that merges 4-5 related records onto a single record using hidden fields. We do this because we need to letter merge against a single record but need data from several related records (normalization…

Please send me a PM with your channel rep's name. Busted! ;)

Evan, Is there any way that I can have system notes deleted based on a search? I could free up a lot of room just by purging system notes for some records.

I'm also quite concerned about the space limitations & costs, as we're looking to scan our vendor bills into an online repository for data entry by remote team members. We are doing the same thing and I've tried my best to optimize the image files. I've found that bitonal pngs seem to yield the smallest size, throwing…

Do I really have to tell the president of our company that our Fees for Netsuite are going to triple in 8 months for choosing a system that I recommended for all of its design flexibility? This seems really ridiculous... AMEN! It IS ridiculous.

Send an email to Pete Brambilla from SpringCM (pbrambilla@springcm.com) and ask about what their plans are for a Netsuite integration (ie. add your support for the integration). Cheers, Dave Sent, although without serious support from NetSuite I don't see how they can integrate to a level that is useable. Hopefully…

We have a need to create a production order for the plant that lists the total quantity of finished product (FP) and the qty of all raw materials needed to produce the FP. If anyone has created anything like this production order in NetSuite, I'd love to discuss with you. Thanks. I had to move the responsibility of work…

The link above just takes me to a login screen. I login, then it takes me to a login screen again.

Does any one know of how to use NetSuite to track products that are rented out and then returned? I recently had to implement this in our account. Initially I was going to use the approach outlined in Ray's whitepaper, it made sense and didn't require anything terribly complicated. I ended up doing it a different way and…

From my experience you can change the members of an assembly even after said assembly has been used in a transaction. I've done it a couple times to correct errors. If I'm understanding your needs correctly I don't think an assembly is what you want. Do you stock the packages (or kits, groups) or are they put together on…

Hi Darren, thanks for the reply and additional information. So, it would be a good idea to keep entities and transactions segregated (using location for example). We are currently using Sales Division for this, will Sales Divisions accomplish the same thing as using locations? Transferring historical data via CSV sounds…

Curious - why would you setup new accounts to reflect each product line. Is that not defined in your item structures. Doing it that way would result in having to define a GL accounting code everytime you add an item or category of items. Hi ray, We really only have 2 product lines and 2 companies. Company A is the…

Whats a sales division ?. a department ?. If so, then again no. Its not the same a location. Yes, my mistake, a Department. We had renamed the field to "Sales Division" and it's been so long I forgot what it reall was. Both companies are located at the same physical location, so it sounds like I need to create another…

I just tried something. Looks like you can create a custom field on the case of type List/Record and set the list to Transaction The create a filter on Type == RMA This will give you a field on the case where you can enter the RMA. You could automate this with script. I didn't check if you can add the inverse to the RMA,…

Hi Pam, I missed your response! I check the option to receive email notifications of replies, yet it never seems to let me know. Anyway, thank you for you response! I've printed it out and will do some test runs. Seems like a simple approach and with some clever SuiteScript (or whatever they call it now.... "SuiteLink" or…

I'm not sure if the small biz version supports serialized inventory(I don't think it does) but NetSuite does offer a module ("Advanced Inventory" maybe?) that has serialized inventory. I've been implementing it slowly and it works, although it leaves some things to be desired. You could add a custom field to your…

How do we get our data in full then? You can't...

Found this thread searching for a solution to using dialog.alert in a field validation handler. I used SS2.0 on this project ONLY so I could get away from javascript alerts. This is the 3rd time I've been taught to just stick with SS1.0 I couldn't help myself to try and find a workaround. We shouldn't be forced to write…

Hi Kate, For what it's worth, I'm using Firefox. I think if you used whatever formatting you used in the first example it would work for everyone. I could be wrong, I don't have older versions of IE running. Have a good one. -Steve

Steve, I understand your frustration. I've experienced the same basic behavior using FireFox with NetSuite Rich Text boxes. I really like FF but had to switch back to IE because we use RT a lot. I hear ya Jim, it's a pain to still need to switch between browsers

I never, ever, trust NetSuite for my editing. I do all my work in Notepad++ and then copy/paste it into NS. Isn't that so sad???? There's just no excuse for it. I CTRL+A, CTRL+C without even thinking because I'm so used to NS trashing my data. Now I just need to get in that habit with the UG and I should have my bases…

It's a cool little add-on. I've used it for years. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ie-tab/ Thanks, Thanks for the link! I used to use IE tab on FF awhile ago, but then it wasn't being updated so I had to stop using it. Looks like it's up and running again and it's also available in chrome.…

I've learned it's only an issue in chrome. The bullet button works fine in FF, but chrome it deletes the current selection and CTRL+Z does not work - it's gone, forever and it's maddening!

OK thanks Phillip. Everyone else: if you like this idea pipe up and let em' hear it.
