We did find an answer eventually: standard transaction script it wasn’t deployed to take into account REST Web services. Thanks Jenny

We do have SuiteTax enabled... so why doesn't SuiteTax calculate and populate the tax transaction type field when we use the API but it does via the UI? :)

I'm confused - SuiteTax calculates the tax details? It does via the UI so why doesn't it via the API?
