I found the issue. I found a custom task form that was the preferred form for role A. I set this form as the preferred form for role B, removed the list from the Dashboard and re-added it. The pencil is now showing up under role B.

Hi Voltron, I changed the Quick Sort on the list in both roles and it did not affect the inline editing of the Due Date for either role. Thank you for noticing.
