Employees moving from Full-Time to Part-Time

Summary:

Certain employees* that move from full-time to part-time must remain eligible for medical coverage for the remainder of the plan year, and potentially the following plan year as well. We do not currently know how to offer them medical coverage in Oracle which they may decline.

Employees that move from full-time to part-time 

  1. They lose all benefits and 
  2. A life event is triggered for those who qualify to offer them medical coverage for the remainder of the plan year and the following plan year when applicable.

Employees that average at least 30 hours per week during the Initial Measurement Period or the Standard Measurement Period (which is the 12-month period ending on July 31st each year), must be offered medical coverage for the ensuing Ongoing Stability Period (which is the 12-month “plan year” period beginning on each October 1st). In other words, if you worked at least 30 hours per week between Aug 1, 2022 and July 31, 2023, you are eligible for benefits in the subsequent plan year.
