How to change Revenue Recognition Rules in In Progress Revenue Arrangement?

Hello Gurus!

If a rule is used in a project-based rev rec scenario and if the rule has "update past for changes" and now we want to "update future periods only", what is the best way to handle this rule change?

Below is the approach I can think of. Any other approacheds?

Scenario 1: Delete previous JEs, delete Plan, update the rule in Revenue Arrangement, Update Plan, rerun JEs for previous months.
