Difficult Task Please HELP!!!!!

Hi Guys:-

I am hoping I can create a workflow maybe combined with Searches to do the following.  We have a custom field on our item records called Item Availbility Week No.

What I would like to do is...

1./ User manually updates Item availability week no.

2./ Workflow initiated, finds all orders containing that item.

3./ Sends preformated email to customers who have ordered that item saying something along the lines of "Unfortunately we have been notified of a delay of <Item Name>, it is now not due with us until week no. <x>.

I really hope this is possible.....  Anyone have any better ideas?
