Workflow entering/exiting/entering same state

This is a warning to take a look at your workflows to see if anything odd happened with them last night and also posted in hopes that Evan will take a look and bump the priority on this.

I have a workflow that sends a series of email messages to customers.

Today around 12:33 am the workflow kicked off and did the following:
for 310 sales orders in State A of a workflow:
12:36 am entered State B of the workflow;
12:40 am exited State B of the workflow;
12:40 am entered State B of the workflow

That's weird but the email on that state gets sent 2 days after entry so no harm done.
