Workflow Confirm Action

We're looking for a way to trigger a confirm action on submit of a sales order if the total of the order has changed via a workflow.  Has anyone gotten this to work properly?

For example, a customer service rep could edit a sales order after the credit card has been authorized.  If the total of the SO changes, the credit card may need re-authorized.  We need a confirmation alert that allows the customer service rep to either confirm and submit the order or go back and re-authorize the credit card.
