Importing Customers From Previous Web Site

I am switching my eCommerce Web site over to Netsuite and I would like to important my customer accounts so they will not have to re-register on the new Web site.

I do not see a password field on the customer import template.  Is this something I can import?

How have others dealt with changing their Web sites over to Netsuite and their customer accounts?
