Quickbooks Import

I am about to do a QuickBooks import.  Any special words of advice?   Do customers have to be set up first?  will the Inv associate correctly to the cust?  What if there is a slight change in the coa, like taking a " - " out of the name?

Any thoughts are appreciated.
