importing custom customer list problems

Hi

I have previous shopping cart customer database. I want to import previous one to netsuite via import csv > Customers List. I can import successfully via default  layout but i want to add extra information field to it. For that,  I have added an extra field to Customer option. LISTS>Relations>customers and  the custom field exists at the custom tab. The custom field name is : customer_item. I want to import data from previous database to  this field also. I have added a column  name is customer_item and imported the csv file. It imported successfully but it did not import to
