Importing Weight and Manufacturer Country

I have an item whose weight is 5 lb and that is manufactured in the US. Although I successully imported other data related to this item, I cannot get the Weight and Manufacturer Country to import. I keep getting error messages. I changed US to United States but no go.
For thew Weight I started with just 5. Then I tried 5lb and 5 lb. No good. Then I added the Weight Unit column and made it lb. Still no good. Can anyone help?
