How to reference externally hosted images in Item Import CSV?

We use third party hosting for our images. We do not intend to use Netsuite for our image hosting. We do not want to load our images to the Netsuite file cabinet.

My question is -- I am using the Import Assistant to import inventory items.. how do I specify images from our third party hosting (not Netsuite filing cabinet) within this process? I tried placing the third party hosted image URL within the "Item Display Image" field. This did not work -- receiving "Invalid storedisplayimage reference " error.
