Full CSV Export - How long?

How long should a full CSV export take?

I've read many threads here about the issues with the Full CSV export, and the KB articles to prevent timeouts, errors, as well as changing List Views to get data that would appear to be missing, but I can not get the export to run.

After "submit", the browser windows refreshes constantly and after several hours it will finally timeout. I've tried 4 different computers from 3 different locations, and from 3 major browsers (IE 8, Firefox, Chrome). All have the same result.. the progress status goes from "Queued" to "Scanning database - accounting data" and never any further.
