Weekly Time Sheets - or importing time?

I do not have the advanced payroll add-on but would like to use the weekly time sheet function.  The problem is that my employees would have to re-enter the job(s) every single day instead of using an excel-style chart.  What are my options?

1) Is there any way to make a stationary list of 'jobs' or other fields so employees can just fill in the hours rather than select the fields each time?

if not,

2) As an alternative, can I load their excel spreadsheets into NS instead?
