Manipulating the Item Columns in a PO

I've been trying to figure out if there is a way to code some Suitescript that will manipulate the line items and line columns that are in the PO.  For instance, I want to be able to check a box that will change a custom field that I created for each line item on the PO.  I was looking at the data in the source and I am unsure of how to start with this.  Anyone have any ideas/code snippets?  Thanks.
