Inventory Item Pictures on Sales Order Form

We would like to show a thumbnail for each product in the Item dropdown menu on the Sales Order Form. I thought maybe to write a javascript (SuiteScript) for this but it seems it would take longer than it is worth.

Has anyone already done something similar? Does anyone have any ideas to achieve the same desired result?

It would also be nice if a thumbnail of the Item selected remained on the form after selecting the product.
