Sourcing custom field from SO to PO

Is there anyway to source information from a custom item field (free form text) on a Sales Order to a PO (drop ship)?  We have drop ship items that can be customized with different items - names, logos, etc and I want the customizations sourced into the automatically generated PO for the vendor.

Hopefully this makes sense to someone - I have spent entirely too much time on this today....... any help would be appreciated.
