Client side line APIs broken?

I'm seeing some seriously weird behaviour:

nlapiSetCurrentLineItemValue() - I cannot set fieldfirechanged to False. This APIs is causing an endless loop no matter what I do.

nlapiSetFieldValue() - this is plain just not working. It is not setting the value of the field specified

Anyone else seeing this?
