Contacts addition to Individual Customers

Does anyone know how to cutomise Netsuite such that it allows addition of multiple contacts to an customer checked as Individual?  with the customer checked as company, the field/list for contacts is avilable. but when checked as individual , these are not.

I am trying to set-up Netsuite for a School, where the students are customers and the parents are taggged as contacts. does any one have a suggestion?

Has anyone used Netsuite to run a complete school system?
