Script to Import Data from CSV file

Is it possible to write a scheduled script that looks for a csv file in the document folder in netsuite; opens the file and imports that data into a custom record?
If so, do you have sample code that might do this and/or can you point me in the right direction?  Any assistance is appreciated.
