Item ID contains Subitem Of

I have a saved search against Items that I would like to only show the Item Id.  I have used either the Name field or a formula(Text) using {itemid}.  On some of the items it shows correctly e.g. "12345"  however on some items it also includes the "subitem of" field" e.g.  "User products : widgets : 12345".

Not sure how to make this just the Item number.  Is my data coded incorrectly or is there a special trick I need to know?
