Conditional Statements in Item/Catalog layout pages?

I was wondering if there was a way to create conditional statements in NetSuite's layouts? Using Suitescript or something? I'm not speaking about javascript conditional statements, but something more native

I'm creating multi-image rollovers and/or pop-ups, but I don't want a roll-over or pop-up if certain fields aren't provided with an image.
