Bin Locations

Hi,
I manage a average sized parts warehouse. We have been looking at bin locations for the past few weeks. I just need a little advise from anyone that has used this feature in Netsuite. Is it an easy feature to manage? What real benefit will I see from using bin locations? Right now we use a 6 digit part number system. Not being a large warehouse I would think that would be suffice. Any Ideas??
