'edit' button for product already in cart

Hi, I was wondering, say if a product has been added to the cart, then the customer decides to change the options of the product. I know there is an 'update total' button, but that is very limited. Is there a way to have like an "edit" button within the shopping cart that takes the customer back to the product page? This way the customer can change the options, qty etc etc from within the product page. And then, instead of 'add to cart', the button becomes 'update cart' since we are editing the current cart contents.

Has anybody done this type of thing?
