Setting Default Date Value

Hello all,

I have created a field on the Opportunity record (Expected Close) that I would like to have a default value of 14 days from the date of creation.  I tried editing the fields on the Validation and Defaulting tab for the field, including checking "Formula" and inputting "={today)+14".  It still defaults to today's date when pulling up a new Opportunity to create.  Anybody have any ideas on how to accomplish this?
