Remove members in Assembly Items

I am looking for an easy way to remove or change an item that is in many different assembly item BOMs. I would like to do a mass update to remove the item from all assembly items BOMs. Also I would like to be able to change an item on all Assembly BOMs from one part to another .Does any one know an easy way to accomplish this?
