how to create an button on a custom form

Hi, there!

For I have to make some customization, I need now to create another button( similar like save, delete or edit which is by default on the form), also I could execute some program when the button is clicked. How could I do that?

Someone who knows how to do this, would you please list out the steps? By the way, which kind of script should I use if I wanna start the operation associated with the button.
