How to add fields to forms (not new fields, but existing fields)

I would like the ability to add fields from the customer record (display only) onto the customer payment form.

Actually this should apply to all types of forms.
We should be able to add existing form related fields (display only) from the customer, vendor, etc to a form which the entity is about.

Right now you can only add new custom fields to forms not existing fields from the related entity.

Any ideas?

I do not want to new create custom fields that point to the entity field.
