String/Date Functions

Are there any functions in SuiteScript to determine which fiscal quarter it is based on a particular date passed to it?

Since I don't see any GetMonth type date functions, I figured I could convert the date to a string and then parse the string, but I can't find any string functions either.

alert(nlapiDateToString(new Date()));

1st quarter = Month IN (1,2,3)
2nd quarter = Month IN (4,5,6)
etc.
