Custom Template for Faxing/Emailing RFQ's to Vendors

Looking at creating a custom template for both fax and email to address the following use case:

Customer quote or sales order is created and I need to get updated cost from my vendors.  Would like to be able to fax or email directly out of NetSuite with pre-populated line items from quote or sales order.

Has anyone done anything like this?
