Transaction Saved Search - Date Function

Hi,

I have done a saved search this year vs last year. I have 2 formula's that is looking between 1/10/2010 to 31/12/2011 (oct is when we went live) so one column is 2010 and the other is looking between (01/01/2011 and 31/12/2011) but I want a date selecter in the footer.

Lets say, I want to see orders from 1st October to today 22/11. I want both the columns to report the sales in the same time frame. this year vs previous year.

For example,

We have this item CT01992, 2010 we have sold say 143 in total, and this year since 1st Jan upto now we have sold 100. But If I was to select 1st Oct to 22/11. It should show something like
