So Classifications aren't available for Entities?

It's dawning on me that NetSuite has not added support for classifications (Department, Location and Class) to customers, vendors, etc.  I'm 2 days into planning an overhaul and I never, ever thought this wouldn't be the case.

If that's true and if it's not possible to classify entities with the system that's used everywhere else, then how are we expected to filter customers out for different divisions of the business?  We have a Retail and a Wholesale division and employee restrictions will not work.

I'm missing something, please tell me that I'm just missing some option somewhere...
