nlapiGetFieldValue returns null value in 'View' mode
I have created a custom transaction body field. Type is inline HTML. At the bottom of this HTML is a <script> directive that points to a javascript file that needs to be included on the page. So far, so good. In this script I need to access the 'total' field -
var total = nlapiGetFieldValue('total');
This call returns the total value when in 'Edit' mode, but returns a null value when in 'View' mode. Obviously this causes problems.
What's the correct approach to placing custom javascript code on a rendered HTML page? Or is there a better API call to use here?
