Customizing the New Business Report

Having a challenge customizing the New Business Report.  If I leave it alone, it works fine - shows only those customers who purchased for the first time in the period I specify.

However, when I try to add a descriptor field, like Price Level, the report shows ALL sales for that period.

I do not know how to make sure I can keep the report mechanics as is and yet add information that will make the report meaningful.
