Referrer Detail Report Issue

I am trying to see where all of my customers are coming from.  Right now, If I go into each Lead, I can see under the marketing tab from where the customer was referred.  However, when I run the referrer detail report, it tells me their is no data available.  Is there some way to capture this valuable information??
