Formula for saved search requiring parent client record

Hi all,

I'm trying to do a search using a formula that finds the difference between two dates. One of the date field is from a parent client record. I'm wondering how to construct the expression for this. My search would look something like:

{customdatefield - parentclientrecord.customdatefield} > 0

What would be the syntax for the parent client record?
