Filter by percent of sales

Hello,
Is there a way to filter a report, like the sales by item report, to just return the items that are in the top X% of the total sales.

I can run a sales by item report, and then get a percentage of sales for all the items and have the top sellers listed first.
That would be great if I just needed one time frame, but I need to get the top sellers for the last 3 years by quaters.  I can't filter to only include certain items, they change.  I can't filter to show anything above x, the volume of sales change.   So what I need is a filter that will only show me the top x% (5%) of sales.
