Profitability of Kits?

Have been using Netsuite for about a year but just joined the user group now.
One of the things I liked about Netsuite was the "Kit" feature - we have some customers that require us to purchase specified packaging or components to then combine into 1 unit with 1 SKU to sell to them. In this case, I create a kit to show the different members and the inventory status of each, etc. Then I can have 1 selling price for the whole kit.
I was hoping that I could find out the profitability of kits (i.e. the selling price of the kit vs. the purchase price of all the components), but the inventory profitability reports completely leave out anything having to do with Kits.
