Recurring events not showing in Detail Activity rpts

Our sales reps set up recurring events for their maintenance visits to customer sites, however only the first occurrence shows up on Sales Rep Activity Detail reports.  Subsequent iterations do display on calendars, but not on the reports.

Is there a better way to achieve this, short of them setting up each event instance individually?
