Drill Down to Entity Record?

I'm trying to create a custom customer search that will drill down to the customer record when you click on the customer's name.  I'm using summary and formulas.  Right now, when I click on the customer name it drills down to detailed report information on that customer (as expected).  But I saw that reports can drill down to the entity record and was hoping that search can do this as well.
