Most Basic Profitability Report

I need the most basic of Profitability reports from Invoices. I need a single line (this is extremely important) that gives the invoice Number and date, the customer the Net Invoice amount and the estimated Cost and profitability for the transaction. Our estimated cost fields work fine on the transaction records but as soon as we report on them they don't work. I have worked with support and I can get reports with multiple lines per invoice (1 per line item) or the estimated costs are wrong. Has anyone else been able to create this?
