Search with SO and Invoice Totals

I am looking to do a search that lists all Sales Orders with Transaction Total (that part is easy) and a sum of invoice Totals where the Invoice is tied to the sales Order.
The only way I can figure out how to do this is starting from Invoices, and get a total of the sales order.
this will not work for me.
I need to see the original Sales order, and how much we already invoiced for.
