Sales by Sales Rep Report Misses Some Sales

We sell spots in training courses far in advance of the actual course.  In order to account for this, we set the income account for the item to a " service liability" since we actually have a liability to perform the course even though we receive cash now.  The problem is that this seems to exclude those sales from sales reports.  Is there a way to fix this?
