Convert numeric data types in to strings

Is there any functions available to convert the numeric data to String?

I want to create a saved search with a filter Where the Name is equal to internal ID (am planning to use the formula Text). The problem i face is internal ID is an numeric field and the name is text. So is there any solution to this problem.
Something like toString() function!!!
